Here’s Why You Should Write Product Reviews

Let’s face it, product reviews are becoming a vital part of any advertising campaign. Do not overlook it as it is one of the most effective ways to raise interest among potential customers.

Most products seem to shy away from critical review and comments they try to pump up their image by stressing only their good points. You will find that integrating product reviews in your advertising campaign can be one of the best ways to increase customer interest and your bottom line ten-fold.

If you’re asking yourself how product reviews can be this important and effective, here are some reasons why you should believe.

1. Better Information – While most consumers rely on advertising to get to know about products they are interested in. They are becoming aware of the fact that most people buff their image by saying flowery things in the hopes to attract more customers.

So how are you supposed to compare products when they all say good things about themselves? The only way they get information they need is when they read reviews from fellow users like themselves.

User reviews usually answer all the questions each customer has before making a decision to buy. They learn the pros and cons of a product, as well as suggestions that make it more attractive compared to other choices.

2. Trust – People trust product reviews because it uses a language that is easily understood by the common user. Aside from this, it has the same appeal as if a friend was describing a product to you, not just to promote, but to inform.

Potential customers will also get a better vision of what the product is all about. A product review is a format that is both enjoyable to read and informative as well.

Some product reviews put a realistic touch to the information by outlining pros and cons of the product. This can be helpful at times although some companies tend to not even mention any of the cons of their products.

3. Experiential – People like comparing statistics and features, most people will get more benefit when the question “how was it” is answered. Most advertising campaigns have features plastered all over their products, but they do not address this all important question.

Product reviews answer that question very well. It basically tells your potential customers that, “I have tested the product and here is my experience with it.” This is the kind of information people want to get before they buy a product or service.

This focuses on the experience of those that have used the product, and how other customers may experience the same. This is completely opposite to traditional advertising that focuses on what it MAY do. Product reviews tell you what these products HAVE done.

Many people are turning to product reviews to help boost sales. The information that these reviews give is the perfect thing to crush the doubts and fears that creep in the minds of your potential customers, a fear that can only be destroyed by trustworthy information.

  1. Jason, this is so true.

I own a website for writers, and am an affiliate for lots of writing-related products and books. Until I began to review the products and/or books and give my opinion of them, I was lucky to sell one or two copies.

These days – in addition to the books I review myself – I pay a reviewer, because I can’t keep up with the requests for reviews. And the sales roll in…..
